Inverness Consulting has an opportunity for an intermediate Project Manager

Description:

The client is looking for an intermediate level proven project manager to assume the leadership of a portfolio of projects for a one year term. The project manager is expected to use their experience and expertise to successfully lead and deliver projects utilizing RUP methodology and following PDO standards while ensuring that Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices are being applied and followed. The project manager will functionally report to the PDO and will ensure that project processes, procedures and policies meet PDO standards and expectations. PMP certified and Knowledge of Agile Project Management methodologies is preferred.

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Communication and facilitation as to the progress, milestones, and significant events through the course of the project to all key stakeholders and steering committee members
  • Leadership of their project team
  • Preparation, monitoring, and ongoing adjustment of the project plan in conjunction with management staff
  • Management of the approved budget
  • Identification of project deliverables and milestones
  • Coordination of regular status meetings with project team leads and following up on outstanding items and deviations from the plan within the governance structure of the project
  • Management of project risks and issues
  • Providing assistance and mentorship as required
  • Knowledge sharing to ensure progressive realization of improvements within the project management practice.

Requirements:

  • Gas industry / utility experience
  • PMP Certified
  • Must have proven experience successfully delivering implementations in the role of a project manager.
  • Must have excellent written, oral and listening communication skills with audiences varying from end users to senior management
  • Must have years of experience in the Management of Information Technology Projects
  • IT industry experience
  • RUP methodology knowledge and experience in applying principles
  • Proven Leadership skills / Leadership Roles in Career
  • Group Facilitation experience
  • Proven experience as a strong problem solver and in making decisions and recommendations
  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgment
  • North American Job experience
